What’s Coming to North Hills in 2016: Office & Hotel
In our last trending post we talked about what’s to come at North Hills for retail and residential, but what about office and hotels? There is plenty of action in that area as well. See what we have in store for 2016.
Office
The Bank of America Tower, formerly known as Tower Two, is set for completion this spring. This 18-story, 300,000 SF Class A office tower includes 10 stories of office, 7 levels of parking, and 10,000 SF of ground level retail, which will include The Capital Grille. Designed by Duda/Paine Architects, the tower features a curved wall along its southwestern face, a two-floor building cut out, an all glass exterior, and a conference center and lockers.Tenants include:

Midtown Plaza:We broke ground on this new Class A office building in fall of 2015, and it is expected to open in 2017 on Church at North Hills Street in the Park District. Allscripts will occupy 245,000 SF of the 330,000 SF building, and SunTrust Banks will occupy 28,000 SF. Designed by the architecture firm LS3P, this tower features two 7-level parking decks.Tower 4 will not only be the largest office tower to date at North Hills at 28-stories and 450,000 SF, it will also be the tallest building on Raleigh’s I-440. It will feature 16 stories of office, multiple levels of parking, and 15,500 SF of retail on the ground level. This tower is designed by WDG Architects, and will be located at the entrance of the Park District on Six Forks Road.
Hotel & Other Features
AC Hotel: North Hills is expected to welcome our third hotel, which will be located in the Park District between the Bank of America Tower and The Dartmouth. Currently under construction, the hotel is slated to open in 2017. It will feature 135 rooms with sleek, European-inspired aesthetics. Currently AC Hotels, a Marriott brand, has about 100 locations in Europe, and is expanding the brand to the United States and Latin America.The Overlook Stairs: Located between the CAPTRUST Tower and the Bank of America Tower, The Overlook Stairs is a tiered walkway through landscaping with benches and gathering areas. Renowned local artist, Thomas Sayre, designed this steel sculpture entrance. Sayre is also known for designing the Midtown Park amphitheater, the store signs at the North Hills location of lululemon, and the Shimmer Wall on the Raleigh Convention Center, among many other impressive works.Keep checking back for more exciting things to come at North Hills in 2016!
