Budweiser Clydesdales & OSMR band are Part of Veterans Day Event
The public is invited to Midtown Park at North Hills on Saturday, November 11th (Veterans Day) to meet the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The Clydesdales will be in attendance at Reds, Whites and Brews, a Veterans Day event hosted by Midtown Events. It will be held from noon to 5pm on Saturday, November 11th in Midtown Park, located at North Hills (4011 Cardinal at North Hills Street). Cost of entry to the event is a $5 donation, which goes directly to Folds of Honor, Budweiser’s chosen military non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of our fallen and disabled service members.The first annual Reds, Whites & Brews event is Midtown Events’ nod to all things patriotic. It is a beer and wine tasting festival, where attendees are invited to purchase samples or full pours from 10 participating breweries and eight participating wineries. The event will feature live music by local opening acts, Four Founders and The Shakedown, followed by a headlining performance by OSMR. With their unmistakable sound, laced with irresistible melodies, OSMR quickly became a fan and radio favorite with hits such as "Can You Feel It Now," "Waste Another Beer," "I Love This Life," and their newest single, "Sweet Life." Most recently, they spent their summer sharing the stage with artists such as Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen, Old Dominion, Sam Hunt - playing some of the top festivals in the country. On the 17th of August, 2004, Major Pulido hit an Improvised Explosive Device (I.E.D.) or roadside bomb while serving with the Coalition Military Assistance Training Team under the command of General David Petraeus. Due to the extensive injuries to his left knee, doctors had to amputate his left leg. For his heroism and valor, the President of the United States along with General Petraeus awarded him the Bronze Star with Valor, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, and Joint Service Commendation and Achievement Medals.Major Pulido’s story of courage and sacrifice has been featured in Time Magazine, PGA Magazine, Fox News, CNN and many national and local Oklahoma City television stations and print media. Major Pulido is a national and global spokesperson for Acadia HealthCare, Department of Defense and VA Real Warriors National Campaign and he is on the State Board of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services with a mission to address the mental health needs of returning service members, Veterans and their families.First introduced in 1933, after the repeal of Prohibition, the Clydesdales have served as living symbols of not just Budweiser, but also the unconquerable American spirit.
