If you want to know where your food comes from and how it’s produced, what’s better than buying it directly from the farmer who grows and raises it? That’s the idea behind the Midtown Farmers’ Market, now in its eighth year at North Hills. As a “growers only” market, our more than 45 local vendors only sell items that they have produced. They’re more than happy to answer all your questions about the produce, meats, seafood, cheeses and baked goods featured at the market every week. This neighborhood gathering spot truly does let you connect to your food and your community in every possible way. Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – noon in the Commons. April – November.
5. Midtown Bluegrass Series
If you’ve never heard bluegrass played live, you’ll want to make a point to attend at least one of the concerts that are part of the FREE Midtown Bluegrass Series. Held monthly on Sunday afternoons, from April through October, this six concert series is popular with music lovers of all ages and a variety of backgrounds. So bring your blanket, lawn chair and cooler down to Midtown Park and settle in for an afternoon of some of the best bluegrass, southern BBQ and craft beer around.
