1. Wellness Wednesdays
Wellness Wednesdays offer 24 weeks of fitness for Midtown residents in the relaxed and non-intimidating setting of Midtown Park. This FREE weekly event gets you out of the gym or your living room and features a variety of fitness classes that highlight the best Raleigh has to offer in terms of exercise instructors and classes. Spring, summer and fall, these classes help you shake up your fitness routine in a way that will have you loving Wednesdays. And of course, the after-class social outings seem to help as well. Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Midtown Park. Spring Season: April 22 – June 3; Summer Season: June 17 – August 5; Fall Season: August 19 – October 7

2. Midtown Beach Music Series
Your days of thinking Thursdays are just a necessary step toward Friday will be over once you discover the Midtown Beach Music Series. These 16 weeks of pure fun will put a spring in your step and have you shagging with the best of them in no time at all. Join the 125,000 other guests who enjoy the series as part of a laid-back night out with friends or a casual opportunity to make business connections in a unique environment — all at no cost. Mark your calendar now for April 23 because that’s when all the fun starts. Thursdays, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Commons. April 23 – August 6.

3. Friday Night Tributes
It’s Friday, and you don’t necessarily want to put the effort into organizing something, but you do want to get out, unwind and have fun. That’s where Friday Night Tributes come in. This block party style music series is perfect for getting together with friends, family or co-workers for live music paying tribute to favorites from the 60s to today. So don’t add the stress of figuring out what to do to your already full plate. We’ll do the work for you; you just have to show up and enjoy! 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on 10 consecutive Fridays, beginning before Labor Day Weekend and running through mid-October.

4. Midtown Farmers' Market
If you want to know where your food comes from and how it’s produced, what’s better than buying it directly from the farmer who grows and raises it? That’s the idea behind the Midtown Farmers’ Market, now in its eighth year at North Hills. As a “growers only” market, our more than 45 local vendors only sell items that they have produced. They’re more than happy to answer all your questions about the produce, meats, seafood, cheeses and baked goods featured at the market every week. This neighborhood gathering spot truly does let you connect to your food and your community in every possible way. Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – noon in the Commons. April – November.

5. Midtown Bluegrass Series
If you’ve never heard bluegrass played live, you’ll want to make a point to attend at least one of the concerts that are part of the FREE Midtown Bluegrass Series. Held monthly on Sunday afternoons, from April through October, this six concert series is popular with music lovers of all ages and a variety of backgrounds. So bring your blanket, lawn chair and cooler down to Midtown Park and settle in for an afternoon of some of the best bluegrass, southern BBQ and craft beer around. Outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed, but they will be available for purchase at each of the concerts. Select Sundays, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Midtown Park. April – October.

6. North Hills Kids
The North Hills Kids Events offer it all — exercise, activities, entertainment and play. These events will give both you and your child something to look forward to on a regular basis, and best of all, they’re FREE! If your little ones need a way to get their energy out between April and August, bring them to the Open Play area at North Hills Commons where they can tumble and play with soft foam equipment to their heart’s content — all in a safe outdoor environment. Weekly programs at Midtown Park also spotlight local children’s attractions, classes and kid-friendly talent. And if that’s not enough, be sure and check our calendar because North Hills Kids Events are often incorporated into other North Hills happenings throughout the year.
