A unique public art display to showcase a rotation of original works by regional artists in an urban setting, The Art Box is open on the ground level of the Bank of America Tower, at the corner of Six Forks and Dartmouth Roads.
The current installation is Triple Delight by Gabriel Eng-Goetz. Gabe is a visual artist based in Durham, North Carolina. His work explores the cultural history of identity, including his own as a Chinese American born and raised in the South, and our human connection to the natural world. This piece illuminates the unique and complex journey Asian Americans experience navigating life in the Southern United States – an experience that can often be described as ‘alien’ or ‘out of sight’. The vibrant colors, shapes and imagery celebrate the rapidly growing Asian community here in the Triangle as both worlds collide as one to create something uniquely beautiful.
