The true object of all human life is play.
The inspiration for this mural is the imagination of play and the play of imagination. The layout is chronological. Beginning with the playing child it moves to the right and continues on the opposite face. The gap in the middle represents an interval or passage. Thus the oak sapling depicted to the right of the child is mirrored as full-grown on the opposite wall. Similarly the imaginative play of the child has taken flight.
