It’s early spring, and that means plenty of rain in the Triangle. If you’re trapped inside by the weather, here are seven activities at North Hills that are sure to brighten dampened spirits of any age.

1. Kings Dining & Entertainment
If you haven’t had a chance to check out Kings Bowl since it opened last fall, a rainy day is the perfect time to head on over. With 30,000 square feet of pure entertainment, this is one option that offers something for everyone. For those who want to bowl, the 18 ten-pin bowling lanes are clearly the place for you. For those who may want to bowl, then do something different, or for those who simply want a way to get out of the house and hang out with friends and family, there’s plenty for you as well. Besides bowling, Kings offers full-size billiards tables, full-size ping pong tables, air hockey, dart boards, a regulation shuffleboard table, foosball tables, a full-service restaurant and sports bar, and dozens of giant TVs and projector screens featuring all of the day’s sports action. Families with supervised children are welcome at Kings during mornings and afternoons. After 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and after 7:00 p.m. every other day of the week, all guests must be 21 or older with proper ID in order to enter.

2. Spas
Why not use the rain as an excuse to get out and pamper yourself? North Hills features five spas that offer a variety of services and experiences. Whether it’s taking time out for yourself or something fun to do with friends, you will find a place that fits just what you’re looking for. From skin care, to massages, to tanning, to body wraps, to facial treatments and everything in between, North Hills’ spas will make you forget the rain and have you feeling like the queen (or king) you really are.

3. Nails
Most women enjoy having their nails done in a salon, but finding the time to do it between all of the kids’ activities and everything else you have to do is often a challenge. Assuming that the rain has caused outdoor kids’ activities to be cancelled, take the opportunity to slip away for a few minutes and treat yourself to a professional manicure or pedicure — something just for you.

4. Movies
What better to do on a rainy day than to catch that movie you’ve been wanting to see? Regal Cinemas North Hills Stadium features 14 movie showings with some in 3D. It’s open every day from noon until 11:30 p.m., and you can’t go wrong with a movie. For more information about movies and times, visit the Regal Movies website.

5. World of Beer
For the 21 and over crowd, learning about craft beers from around the world at the World of Beer is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Not only will you get the chance to taste the difference in each selection, you’ll also hear about the culture and people that made them possible. The World of Beer offers a true experience for those who like a good story and a good beer and have rainy day kind of time to enjoy them both. Of course, don’t forget a designated driver if you’ll be hitting the road afterward.

6. Fox & Hound Sports Tavern
For those who want to shake the rainy day blahs in a social setting, the Fox & Hound Sports Tavern offers video golf and video bowling with Golden Tee Live and Silver Strike Bowling. The popular hangout also has a pool table and 28 TVs that let you enjoy the day’s sporting events in a setting that is friendly, welcoming, and anything but dreary.

7. Target
Let’s face it, there’s always too much to see and too little time for routine trips to Target. If you’re like most people, you go in with a specific purpose and then vow to come back later to look at the things that catch your eye. With complete coverage from parking to the entrance, you’ll never even have to break open the umbrella to do some rainy day shopping and long-awaited browsing at the Target at North Hills. This Target was truly built to block your exposure to the elements, so take advantage and spend as much or as little time as you’d like.
