We asked the husband and wife team behind Midtown Olive Oil, Bethany & Ed Perkins, about working together, their favorite Valentine’s Day memory, and more!
When and how did you meet?
“We were next door neighbors at NCSU. After college, we both ended up in Greensboro for work and ran into each other there. We have been married for 15 years and business partners for almost 5 years.”
What are your roles in your business?
“Our strengths are very different and compliment each other. Ed is much better at the business side of things and handles more behind-the-scenes tasks such as payroll, accounting, etc. and occasionally handyman extraordinaire. Bethany is much more hands-on and in charge of all the day-to-day operations.”
What do you like about working together?
“We don’t technically “work together” and that’s probably a good thing!” (smile)
Do you have a favorite date spot in North Hills?
“For dinner, what’s not to like with so many wonderful choices?! Some favorites are Vivace, Mura, Ruth’s Chris and Midtown Grille. We also enjoy the movie theater in North Hills!”
What’s your favorite Valentine’s Day memory?
“Two years ago, we were in Disney with our kids. At our hotel, we ordered room service for them and had a really nice Valentine’s dinner in the restaurant downstairs!”
