Celebrating its 10th season, the Thursday evening Midtown Beach Music Series at North Hills is popular with event goers from around North Carolina, hosting over 125,000 guests throughout the 18 week season. The series offers the best of Beach Music on warm summer nights and features Shag dancing, a time-honored tradition in the South. One of the few local free concerts available to the public, this event hosts those looking for a fun night out. With the best band line-up ever, this 10th season is sure to be a fantastic one!

Midtown Farmers’ Market

Celebrating its 10th season, located in the ever popular North Hills Commons, the Midtown Farmers’ Market continues to be a community favorite.  We take great pride in the fact that our “producers only” market provides local residents the opportunity to support North Carolina Farmers. The market takes place every Saturday, from April through November, from 8am to 12pm for a 30 week season. The market fosters a community atmosphere and delivers fresh foods from producers to your table. Come to the market for a direct connection to 45 new and returning vendors featuring locally produced breads, desserts, vegetables, produce, nuts, dairy, meats, crafts and more. The mission is to create a vibrant farmers market in the heart of Midtown Raleigh, where the community can buy local, family-farmed foods, grown in a manner that sustains the land and our health. Our market is dedicated to providing the community access to healthful food options, and educational opportunities to learn about sustainable farming methods and food systems. Weekly programming includes live music, health and wellness classes, kids’ activities, and “green” events.

North Hills Kids

North Hills Kids is a seasonal series of fun-filled events that provides an opportunity for children to come together to learn, exercise, and socialize in an outdoor environment. Thousands of young guests and their parents enjoy our Open Play area, located in the North Hills Commons, from the beginning of April through the end of August. The Commons green is filled with tumbling mats, soft foam equipment and then surrounded by colorful fencing. Our young guests are also invited to attend special, weekly programs designed to highlight local children’s attractions, activity classes, and kid-friendly performances held in Midtown Park. North Hills Kids activities often pop up as a popular segment of other signature North Hills events throughout the year including the Midtown Beach Music Series and Midtown Farmers’ Market Now in its 7th season, North Hills Kids continues to be a highlight for families in the Raleigh Community.

 

Wellness Wednesdays

The Wellness Wednesdays Series consists of FREE fitness opportunities made up of two sessions in the Spring and Fall. They take place on the grass lawn of Midtown Park on Wednesday evenings. These events encourage participants to “Get Your Fit On” by promoting whole-body wellness through a wide variety of fitness concepts.

Midtown Music Fest

Urban Music Festival, April

The Annual Midtown Music Fest is a celebration of Spring and the return of outdoor music to North Hills! With a diverse line-up spanning a variety of genres split between two stages, Music Fest is now bigger and better than ever. Enjoy popular food trucks, craft beer, specialty cocktails and an all new vendor village while experiencing acts on both stages. General admission into concert is FREE to the public.

Midtown Bluegrass Series

The Midtown Bluegrass Series appeals to old and young alike, featuring the best of bluegrass with popular string band music. With its’ unique combination of gospel, country, and blues, that iconic “high lonesome sound” has deep rooted ties to the Appalachian region of the Tarheel state. Concert guests are invited to relax on the grassy lawn of Midtown Park and enjoy family and friends. Live acoustic music fills the air at 2 yearly concerts.

Kickin’ It Country

BBQ Cook-off & Music Festival, May

Kickin’ It Country is an annual celebration of North Carolina and the South, held in Midtown Park at North Hills. The event includes live music from Carolina bands, a North Carolina Pork Council (NCPC) sanctioned BBQ cook-off, kids activities, local breweries and vendors from around the area. Proceeds from the event benefit the Adventurers for Special Needs.

Extend your weekend fun with our Sunday FUNday lawn party, complete with your favorite lawn games, curated beverages, and oases of shade. Sway to the sounds of live music while basking in a sweet Sunday summer afternoon! Featuring a Champagne Bar, a Rosé Garden, specialty cocktails and beer. Lawn party games include giant chess, giant jenga, croquet and cornhole boards.

National Night Out

National Night Out is an opportunity for communities nationwide to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, safety awareness, and neighborhood camaraderie. As one of the largest National Night Out events in Raleigh, we welcome free family-friendly activities and the opportunity to meet members of local law and safety enforcement.

Friday Night Tributes Series

This feel good music series highlights music we all know and love. Friday Night Tributes appeal to young and old alike, paying homage to throwback music genres starting in the 60’s to current day favorites. The block party style set-up, located in Midtown Park, is an ideal place for friends, family, and co-workers to gather in celebration of the weekend to come. Live music fills the air from 7-9PM on eight consecutive Friday evenings. Doors open at 6pm – come early to grab a spot on the lawn!

The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration, located in the heart of Midtown Raleigh, is a beloved holiday event. For over a decade, North Hills has hosted thousands of guests in the Main District Commons for a fabulous holiday program featuring live entertainment, snow slopes, trackless trains, and a vendor village. As Santa Claus arrives, the 41 foot Christmas Tree is lit amidst a joyous chorus of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”
