About Kelsey Montague Mural
The mural is a depiction of a large oak tree, reminiscent of North Carolina. The perched cardinal adds a pop of color to the black and white picture, which is woven with North Carolina imagery throughout the tree’s trunk. If you look close enough you will find dogwood leaves, Dorton Arena, the Raleigh Greenway logo, references to both the sea and the mountains, the Raleigh skyline, and a variety of animals and produce indigenous to North Carolina. Produced in three days by international muralist, Kelsey Montague, the mural is an original design that was influenced and evolved during Kelsey’s visit to Raleigh.
Kelsey Montague is the inspiring artist behind the #WHATLIFTSYOU movement. Her ability to harness the power of social media to create uplifting and interactive public art for the digital age has propelled her to a unique status amongst artists and social influencers.
Kelsey's murals specifically invite people into a piece and then invite people to share their experience online. Kelsey believes that art should not be separated from the human experience. Instead the human experience should have a hand in creating the art itself. After studying art in Florence, and graduating from Richmond University in London with a degree in Art, Design & Media, Kelsey spent 4 years in NYC – embracing and battling the Big Apple while developing her pen & ink style.Contact Kelsey Montague Art
