We were inspired recently by William, The Food Drive Kid, a local 4th grader fighting to end childhood hunger in our community. Because giving back to our community is so important to North Hills, we are excited to work alongside William, thirteen North Hills businesses, and Models for Charity in hosting WALK: The Runway Series to combat childhood hunger.
For the past three years, William’s combined efforts with the Interfaith Food Shuttle and the BackPack Buddies program have raised $18,000 and 14,000 pounds of goods. William has motivated us to participate in the fight to end childhood hunger in the community.
All proceeds from WALK: The Runway Series will support The Food Drive Kid in matching a grant he received from Sodexho to start a community garden at Ligon Middle School. The community garden will help teach students about sustainability and growing their own produce.
WALK will be hosted in our newest public art display, The Dalek Exhibit. Joining The Art Box’s EyeCentennials and Kelsey Montague’s #WhatLiftsYou mural in North Hills’ public art initiative, The Dalek Exhibit is located next to Ruth’s Chris Steak House as a temporary art installation.
Don’t miss an opportunity to support William The Food Drive Kid by attending WALK: The Runway Series on Thursday, October 6 from 7-9pm. And, you’ll have the unique chance to experience The Dalek Exhibit.
