The eighth season of the Midtown Farmers’ Market begins this weekend! As North Hills’ longest running event, the Farmers’ Market will run every Saturday from 8:00am – noon between April 18 and November 1 in the Commons.
At North Hills, supporting local vendors and businesses and creating events that encourage community are two very important goals. With our lively neighborhood market, we accomplish both.
As predicted by both Mura and Ruth’s Chris in our “Predicting the Top Foods of 2015” post, farm-to-table and eating local continues to a huge trend both nationally and in Raleigh. The Midtown Farmers’ Market allows you to spend a lovely Saturday morning perusing all of the wonderful food and other items. You can even make a quick stop at the Starbucks in the Commons and enjoy your morning coffee while you do your local shopping.
Head over to the Midtown Farmers’ Market website for a list of our vendors. You’ll find everything from delicious local produce, homemade bread, and lean proteins to wood bowls, homemade soap, and dog treats! We are a strict “growers only” market, which means that vendors can only sell items that they have grown themselves.
What you may not know about the Midtown Farmers’ Market is that it offers so much more than just wonderful, fresh foods. Each Saturday there is a fitness class from 8:30 – 9:30, live music, and a farm-to-table chef!
If you’re looking to make a day of it, many of our restaurants’ chefs shop at the Farmers’ Market for their kitchens. Stop off at Mia Francesca Trattoria, Coquette Brasserie, Vivace, or Flights at the Renaissance for lunch or dinner and enjoy some of the local foods you saw that morning.
